Don Williams blogs at (and is) the Susquehanna River Sentinel. Late last week he posted this on his blog:
My Aunt Sandy - my father's youngest sister - was from my perspective the ultimate Williams/Stewart family historian. I truly believe she threw almost nothing away. In the months ahead, for those that stop by my newest blog, you'll come to understand what I mean by "almost nothing".
In boxes and folders and albums taking up a sizable corner in our basement, I have become the willing recipient of roughly ~130 years of "stuff" that chronicles the lives of my ancestors and contemporaries who were born and raised in (primarily) northeastern PA before heading off to continue their lives elsewhere.
In order to share these mementos with members of our expanded families from coast to coast, I've created another blog - The Williams Chronicles- which will afford 24/7 access to all of the pics and documents that I've recently begun scanning.
Don's new blog can be found here:

The Williams Chronicles
It's a fascinating project, one that could be replicated by countless people everywhere. How many of us have access to old family photos, letters, and newspaper clippings? How long until those photos fade, and those letters and clippings crumble into dust? By creating this blog, Don is preserving and sharing historical artifacts of his family, allowing family members (and others) to see things they might never have seen otherwise. What's to stop the rest of us from doing the same?

PA Live! Blog of the Week: We are: clamco
NEPA Blogs will be presenting a "Blog of the Week" on the WBRE's PA Live! every Tuesday. PA Live! airs weekday afternoons on WBRE from 4:00 to 5:00.
Watch this episode on the PA Live! site:
Our PA Live! Blog of the Week this week is We are: clamco (http://clamco.blogspot.com/).
We first learned of this blog by tracking back a comment that they left to a post on NEPA Blogs a few months ago. When I told them I wanted to add them to our links list, they said they had thought about submitting their blog to us but didn't think they would fit in since their blog wasn't actually about anything specific. But that's the beauty of "life" blogs: you don't have to write about a specific topic, or have a specific theme. You just blog about whatever you want! We are: clamco is a blog by a family in Northeastern Pennsylvania - Chris, Lorraine, and Megan (the "c", "l", and "m" of "clamco", as explained here) along with a dog and three cats. Their blog documents their day-to-day adventures, whether it's Megan's art, or selling things on eBay, or running in a half-marathon, or taking a family vacation, or preparing for Christmas, or just celebrating the joy of a sunrise.
Once upon a time people sent out annual Christmas letters, detailing the changes in their family's life in the previous year. But with a family blog, you give friends and family a ringside seat to your life as it happens. And someday you may be glad to have a document of your family's life so you can look back and say "Remember when...?" For a great example of a family blog, be sure to check out We are: clamco!
If you have a blog you would like us to link on NEPA Blogs, or know of a blog you think we should link, please let us know! You can always drop us a line at nepablogs@gmail.com!

We Are: clamco
The "We Are: Clamco" blog was a discovery of DB Echo when they corrected an "oopsie" in one of his most recent blog posts.
What exactly is clamco? Good question. After doing a bit of reading on their blog, I discovered that the blog is that of a tightly knit family living in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The Acronym "Clamco" stands for (C)hris (L)orraine (A)nd (M)egan (Co)mpany (i. e. the members of the family).
From the Author's mouth:
I mainly write about Ebay stuff, my running (if you can call it that), my family's travels and experiences, our pets, etc. I try and keep it light and upbeat. "Be positive" is my motto (as well as my blood type!)
You can check it out here: http://clamco.blogspot.com/
Family blogging is such a great idea. I wonder how many other of these types of blogs exist in NEPA? If you know of any, please let us know in the comments or via email at nepablogs@gmail.com.
