Better late than never...
I just did a search regarding a (sold out) "Bloggers' Breakfast" that is part of the wrap party for the U.S. version of "The Office," which is set in Scranton. The top result was this:

It's a blog from the Scranton Times-Tribune, by staff writer Josh McAuliffe, whose name was mentioned in last week's episode. The blog has been around since September 2007, yet somehow we've managed to miss it. Just goes to show that there are still lots of blogs hiding in plain sight throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania!
"The Office" is ending soon, but it will live on in re-runs, DVDs, digital downloads, and through whatever forms media will evolve into in coming years. Here's hoping that The Office Blog will live on along with it as a helpful reference tool for fans who have yet to discover the show!

If You Can Play Scranton: A Theatrical History, 1871-2010 (http://ifyoucanplayscranton.blogspot.com/) is a blog that's also a tie-in to a book of the same title by Nancy McDonald. From the entry "About the Book":

Carl Abraham and his fascinating News Media Tribute Site
I want to preface this blog post by saying ahead of time how shocked I am that this website has never made it to our blogroll sooner (As an aside, his webpage is not a blog, but I strongly feel that it still deserves a spot on our blogroll).
(From LinkedIn) Carl Abraham is the Assistant News Director at WNEP-TV for those of you that don't know. A few years ago, through doing a Google search for WNEP, I came across his webpage - which can be found at http://www.carlabraham.com.
The webpage is broken out into the following sections:
Carl's Scranton PA Homepage - There are a bunch of photos showing the downtown landscape and how it has transformed with the various constructions projects that have happened over there years.
WDAU-TV Tribute Web Site - A pictorial page of WDAU-TV (*ahem* now referred to as WYOU-TV)'s cast and crew. If you look hard enough, you can find David DeCosmo author of the "No News Is..." blog which is linked on our blogroll.
WNEP-TV Tribute Web Site - The WNEP Tribute Web Site section has the same feel as the WDAU website section, except (you guessed it) with WNEP cast members. I spy with my little eye....blogger Jennifer Wade and A. Pal in some of the photos posted, although, I'm sure there are many more faces you will will recognize.
Scranton St. Pat's Parade - Aerial photos of the city during the parade and various marchers along the parade route with some brief commentary about the parade.
**There are also links to a Genealogy Page and a NY Mets Fan Page
I think the page is worth a look if you haven't already as it is a historic look on NEPA's media presence and landscape and how it has evolved over the years. I sincerely hope that Carl keeps updating the "virtual museum" (as I like to call it) with pictures so we will always have a way to remember the past.

Another blog for "The Office" - and The Office Convention this weekend!

Office Tally is described as "THE go-to site for The Office" by one of NEPA's foremost bloggers (soon making her triumphant return to the blogosphere!) And one of its latest posts (as of this writing) is all about The Office Convention, coming up this weekend (October 26-28) in lovely downtown Scranton! While the weather may be typical Scranton Weather - cold, gray, and rainy - the Flaming Foliage is currently at or near peak, so that should be a special treat for visiting Office fans. And they'll get to see quite a bit of it if they decide to slip out to Chili's for lunch. (The closest Chili's is just outside of the Wyoming Valley Mall in Wilkes-Barre Township, some 20 miles from downtown Scranton!)

I've hunted down a few more NEPA Blogs. But first, here are two more from the author of QAZSE.com:
- twisp.com (actually located at http://twisp.wordpress.com/) is described as "East-West poetry."
- Baldwin Brothers (http://baldwinbrothers.wordpress.com/) is a humor blog - cartoons, jokes, and the like.
- I'm not quite sure how I found Spartacus the Monkey, but it took me a while to decipher that it is an honest-to-goodness NEPA Blog.
- Frank H. Jump's Fading Ad Blog isn't exclusively - or even predominantly - about Northeastern Pennsylvania, but it does have a NEPA category which includes almost all of the "fading ads" - giant ads that were once painted on the sides of buildings, like the late lamented Mr. Peanut in Wilkes-Barre - that he has photographed in the NEPA area.
- For those mourning the apparent passing of Northeastern Pennsylvania Media News and Gossip forum, I have found a site that appears to serve a similar function, at least as far as radio is concerned: the Radio-Info.com Northeast Pennsylvania discussion boards.

Life In The Office
When I first heard that the U.S. version of the popular British TV series The Office was going to be set in Scranton, I was filled with trepidation. The original series was set in Slough, England, which is portrayed (or so I am told, I have never seen the original) as the most miserable, depressing place to live and work in all of England. Scranton has long had a similar reputation - mostly unjustified. Would the new series portray Scranton and all of NEPA as a miserable, depressing place?
Apparently not. While I have also never seen an episode of the U.S. version of The Office (who has time for TV, with all this blogging?), most of the people who work in my office who are regular viewers find the show a lot of fun, generously sprinklied with local references.
