Megan Baringer is new to Northeast PA.  She moved here last May and is looking for some camaraderie from other local lifestyle bloggers.

From the mailbag:

Hi! My name is Megan Baringer - I just moved to NEPA.  I just started a lifestyle blog to follow my fitness and life through wedding planning and marriage. Thanks!

FunFitFashionable

Here's another blog from the list of bloggers in attendance at last year's NEPA BlogCon. Many of the bloggers on that list are already listed on NEPA Blogs, and a few have walked away from blogging - for the time being, at least. I'm trying to add some of the active blogs to the NEPA Blogs list before the second annual NEPA BlogCon this Saturday, October 5!

FunFitFashionable
http://www.funfitfash.com/

As the name suggests, this blog is all about fitness and fashion - and having fun! In the words of Alyssa, who writes the blog,

FunFitFashionable began in August 2011 as a way to share my training and healthy eating habits and recipes, fashion trends and outfits, and beauty tips and creations along with my occasional random “life” tips.  Mainly I like to focus my blog on living a balanced lifestyle!

I enjoy exercising almost daily and finding new ways to save money through doing at-home beauty treatments and other methods of taking care of yourself.  I love finding new ways to better my health and then share it with everyone!

FunFitFashionable is still going strong, a year after the NEPA BlogCon. Check it out and encourage Alyssa to keep on blogging!

From the Mailbag: 3 from Tom McGuire

This morning, we have three new blogs to share with you from Tom McGuire of Scranton

Hello,

I write several blogs and was wondering if I could get one or all of them listed on your page.

Some are for commercial purposes but it did not look like that was an issue when I saw your page.

Here are a list of my blogs

I talk a lot about bullying, weight loss, confidence and things along those lines.  If you ever wanted to be a guest blogger feel free to let me know.

Thanks,
Tom

Welcome to the blogroll, Tom!  If you'd like to tip us off to a new blog in the area, drop a line to nepablogs@gmail.com.

PA Live! Blog of the Week: Is THIS Bliss?!

NEPA Blogs will be presenting a "Blog of the Week" on the WBRE's PA Live! every Tuesday. PA Live! airs weekday afternoons on WBRE from 4:00 to 5:00.

Watch this episode on the PA Live! website: http://pahomepage.com/palive-details?nxd_id=287192

Our PA Live! Blog of the Week this week is Is THIS Bliss?! (http://www.isthisbliss.com/).

Lorina, the blogger at Is THIS Bliss?!, certainly doesn't limit herself to blogging about just one thing. To put it as simply as possible, her blog is about finding out who she is right now.

Reading through her posts, much of this finding out is actually an act of creation. Is THIS Bliss?! isn't really a diet blog, and isn't really an exercise blog, but it does cover these topics extensively, with blog posts on subjects like exercise, fitness, health, running, weight loss, and self-esteem. Did you ever think to make your daily run more exciting by imagining, say, that there are zombies coming after you? Lorina has, and it turns out there's even an app for that. Tired of weighing yourself to see how your diet is coming along? Lorina gives (approximately) 101 Reasons to Ditch the Scale.

Is THIS Bliss?! is a fun, engaging read in which Lorina takes you along on a journey of self-discovery - and self-creation. Perhaps reading her posts will inspire you to begin your own journey. Just remember: sometimes the journey is more fun if you imagine you're being chased by zombies!

If you have a blog you would like us to link on NEPA Blogs, or know of a blog you think we should link, please let us know! You can always drop us a line at nepablogs@gmail.com!

Rebuilding Sean

A few Saturday mornings ago, Andy Palumbo recommended that I add one of his friend's blogs to NEPA Blogs.  Sean Gowden started his blog back in August.  It will chronicle his adventure of getting back into shape.

From the first post:

God...I've let myself go.  Time to change.  All new, rebuild...from the ground up.

3 goals:

Sean minus 50 pounds of blubber.

Sean finally builds the winemaking and beermaking apps for iOS
Sean does this while being a better husband and dad. (and that's not saying I'm not already a good husband and dad.)

...

This blog is for me.  If you gain some insight, inspiration or entertainment value, then good for you.   I'm here to rebuild myself, be the guy I want to be; not the guy I currently am.

You can follow Sean's journey to achieving his goals at http://rebuildingsean.blogspot.com/

Runningful

I found out about this blog when the author attended NEPA BlogCon's launch party at the end of June.  As it turns out, I used to work with Alicia in my short time at Solid Cactus many moons ago and we were both in Bernie's Memorial July 4th Run/Walk.  Alicia is an avid running chick and writes about it on her blog called Runningful

Hey there, I'm Alicia! I've been running for about three years now and have finished several 5ks and my very first half marathon. Running has been a wonderful experience for me, and hence "Runningful" was born as the place where running+wonderful intersect. Want to share a running story, write a guest post, pitch a product review/giveaway, or just have a comment? Email me at alicia@runningful.com!

http://www.runningful.com
"Running is wonderful"

Runningful covers topics such as proper nutrition for runners, running wisdom, running inspirations and also has product reviews that may be helpful to runners.

You can also follow Alicia's adventures on Twitter under the userid of @runningful.

I wouldn't recommend running in this heat, give yourself a break today and soak up the AC or take a dip in the pool.  Stay cool, NEPA.

Fat Then Fit Now

April Fool! Well, I'm writing this April 1, but, by gum, I'm gonna backdate it to yesterday so we can officially put a stake in the heart of MARCH MADNESS.

A comment on a Blog Fest recap page made me realize we haven't ever linked to Dr. Joe Leonardi's health and fitness blog, Fat Then Fit Now. Joe used to be a political blogger but has shifted his focus over the last few years.

Thus endeth March Madness.
