Of Cakes and Horses

Two blogs submitted in one email a while back:

I live in the Poconos of PA, and I own two blogs. I thought you might be interested in checking them out? My cake blog I don't update very much anymore: http://cakesofadifferentshape.blogspot.com/ But I'm much more active on my model horse blog: http://mistystarstudios.blogspot.com/

If you have a blog you'd like us to link to, send it to nepablogs@gmail.com!

From the Mailbag: Pocono Talk

I received an email from Andrea Kimes, one of the founders & contributors to the "Pocono Talk" blog.

http://www.poconotalk.com

(from the sidebar of the website)

What Is Pocono Talk?

Pocono Talk is a website where you can discuss everything from the best places to eat, to the best weekend activities to whatever is going on in your everyday life.

Whether you live in the Poconos, are visiting on vacation, or commute to New York or Philly, Pocono Talk has something for you.

We encourage positive discussion and provide you with hundreds of photos, videos, business and community listings so even if you've lived here for 30 years you may still find something new.

This is one of the more comprehensive guides to the Poconos that I've seen.  If you are looking for something to do in the Poconos, this is the website for you!

From the Mailbag: Pocono Record Blogs

We received this message earlier this week from a reporter at the Pocono Record Newspaper.

Hi,
I’m  a reporter here at the Pocono Record who also handles digital matters. We have some great recurring blogs by local folks that I was hoping you could pick up and add to your site. One focuses on running, the other on weddings and another on Pike County. Let me know if you need any more information.
Thanks.

These are our most frequently updated blogs:

Running the Poconos

Yesterday’s Photos (Vintage and archival images of Monroe County)

Pocono Wedding Talk

 I like Pike

Camilo H. Smith
Reporter

Michael Sadowski also had a popular blog at the Pocono Record called "Pop Rox" which has recently slipped into our 3+-Months-since-last-update blogroll.  This blog fell to the wayside after he left the newspaper and area (he and his wife appear to be working from the Harrisburg area now).  Hopefully, these new blogs will fill the void that Michael left behind.

Enjoy, and happy Sunday.

Field's End Art

Here's another submission to nepablogs@gmail.com:

Hello, I would like to be added to your blog.  I am contemporary artist, and am collected and exhibit around the world, and reside outside of Lehighton,  PA.

You can link to me with the link down at the bottom of this message.  Thanks!

Hilary J. England

for new paintings please visit www.hilaryjengland.com

Check out my artist's life blog at: www.fieldsendart.blogspot.com

It's always great to see a blog from another artist here in Northeastern Pennsylvania!  Many people don't realize how many artists, writers, poets, musicians, and performing artists we have in this area. And a blog is a great way for these folks to share their creativity with the world!

If you're an artist, a writer, a poet, a musician, a sculptor, an actor, a burlesque performer, a sword swallower, or - heck, if you're anybody here in NEPA who has a blog, we'd like to hear from you! Drop us a line here at nepablogs@gmail.com !

The Donkey Did It

Ada Mae Compton (this week's #NewHeaderWednesday submission) was the first animal blogger to be added to our blog roll a few months ago, now we have a second!

The Donkey Did It
http://thedonkeydidit.wordpress.com/

Although the blog hasn't been updated for a year or so, I have no doubt that this infamous Poconos ass (pun intended) will return to blogging shortly.

From the About Page:

Howdy, everyone! My name is Murphy and I am with-out-a-doubt the coolest
miniature donkey in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.

Just call me the entertainment around here. I live at
Pocono Manor Stables and I keep this blog to give all my fans a way to keep in touch and to share all the latest
exciting news of the only stable in the Pocono Mountains you’ll ever need to
visit!! We’ve got it all! After all, talent like mine wouldn’t be wasted at any
place that wasn’t simply the BEST!

Now that you know a little more about me, why not stick around?!? C’mon
show a real special ass some support!!

Know of any other famous NEPA animal bloggers? Shoot us a line over at nepablogs@gmail.com!

Rick's Pocono Blog

One industry that has embraced the use of blogs is Real Estate. Real Estate blogs allow individual realtors to tell their stories, showcase their properties, and be both more personal and more persuasive when it comes to connecting with potential customers.

Rick Cordisco is a blogger and realtor operating out of the Poconos. His individual posts focus on specific properties, or show the wonders of the Poconos in general - all the things that might appeal to someone thinking about purchasing a property in the region. In doing so he paints a picture of the Poconos many of us are familiar with, but at the same time highlights features that may be new even to lifelong residents of NEPA. Check out his blog and see for yourself!

The Forwardian Arts Society

We've actually got a backlog of new blogs to be added to NEPA Blogs! I don't want to add them all at once, because that may be a bit overwhelming, and each blog might get lost in the crowd, and we might then go a while without adding any! So here's one that we found today (after a few clicks) from one of the most recent members to join the NEPA Bloggers group on Facebook, Paul Adam Smeltz:

The Forwardian Arts Society
We are a fellowship for people who love the arts.

http://www.forwardianartssociety.blogspot.com/

This is a fantastic look at the arts scene in Stroudsburg, near the southeastern corner of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Easily accessible from Route 80, the venues Paul describes are within striking distance of much of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Have a look at what's going on, and give some thought to heading down there!

The NEPA Real Estate Photo Blog

We received a new blog submission via email from Gillian Peterson. I would like to say that she seen the ComputerWise TV show with Harold and I and was inspired to send us an email to list her blog, but I don't know if that is true...I will find out though!

The NEPA Real Estate Photo Blog
is the professional blog/profile for Gillian Peterson. She takes all the pictures, and posts all of the information and ideas to the blog. A one (wo)man show you may call it.

From the About Page: Hello! My name is Gillian Peterson. I am a 28-year-old licensed Realtor (RS308732) in the resort area of the Pocono Mountains. This includes areas such as historic Stroudsburg and Mount Pocono, as well as Tobyhanna, East Stroudsburg, Tannersville, Bangor, Windgap, Marshalls Creek, etc. Basically all of Monroe, Pike, Wayne, Carbon, Northampton, and Lehigh counties. I will not only blog about events in the Poconos, but also in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Nazereth, Northampton, and beyond!

Thanks for the submission, Gillian! I am adding her blog to the sidebar as I type this entry out. For the rest of you, please feel free to send your blog to nepablogs@gmail.com if you would like them to appear on our website.
