Worthy of a second mention

A few weeks ago we featured "Our10.org" which was a portal for flood victims and volunteers/those with donations to connect. Our10.org was founded on September 16, 2011. The focus seems to be in the Wyoming County area, but anyone can sign up and post a listing. You can read our post about it here.

There is a similar website for Luzerne County/The Wyoming Valley out there (although not limited to those areas) for flood victims/volunteers. It is called NEPA Connect.

From the Connect Flood Needs Page:

At NEPA Connect we want to do what we can to help people affected by the recent historic flooding in Northeastern Pennsylvania get back on their feet as quickly as possible.

Use this free tool to find or donate items for home or business. We can work as a community to put affected homes, small businesses, and most importantly lives back on track.

I have had great success with posting some baby furniture and getting the items into the right hands of someone in need. You can read more about the experience on my blog here.
