Our PA Live! Blog of the Week this week is Darling Stewie (http://darlingstewie.com/).

We've been on a bit of a serious run with the Blog of the Week the last few weeks, especially with last week's look back at the September Flood of 2011. This is definitely a change of pace! Darling Stewie is the cute-as-can-be blog of Wilkes-Barre's Leslie Stewart, who is a Senior Graphic Designer at a local Internet firm. Her work may be serious, but her blog is all fun! From going over (and occasionally modeling) the latest in Japanese-inspired fashions to toys, cartoons, social media, Darling Stewie looks at all things "kawaii"! (Be sure to check out "The 10 Cutest Robots of All Time" - Tom Servo from Mystery Science Theater 3000 came in at #7!)

Leslie Stewart's skills as a graphic designer shine through on her blog.  The layout, logos, and overall look of the site have all been designed by her. She also showcases her creativity by designing cartoon-inspired fashion ensembles, decorating her apartment in her favorite themes, designing infographics and flowcharts like this very helpful one for determining "Will I like this video?" (which asks questions like "Does it have cats in it? Are they on a Roomba?"), and sharing images of cute and cool things she's found online and in stores. She's also a published cartoonist, and her site has been featured on the website Design Resource Box as one of their "Excellent Graphic Designer Website Designs."

Sometimes it's easy to get cynical about Northeastern Pennsylvania: the chronic economic issues, the toxic politics, the potholes that never seem to get fixed, and the highway projects that never end. At times like that it's good to remember that there are creative, dynamic, and fun young people in this area, people who just might represent the future of this area. People like Leslie Stewart, and her ultra-cute, ultra-cool, totally kawaii blog, Darling Stewie!
